Annual Bowl Show

Although my main efforts are now in sculpture, since 1999 I hold an annual bowl show up at my old farmhouse/main studio in a rustic hamlet in the mountains north of Kyoto during the first week of May (last Saturday of April to 6th May). The show primarily comprises the display & sale of wheel-thrown quasi tableware and is an excellent opportunity to meet old and new friends in convivial surroundings. This show has become such an enjoyable event I could not envisage a calendar year being complete without it.
The 2007 bowlshow will involve my young son, who has made some bowls and cups in order to participate. For myself, I have chosen the decoration theme of "the boar" - which is this year's animal in the Japanese version of Chinese astrology - for my porcelain/clay bowls and plates. Access: Head from Kyoto by car on route 162 to Miyama-cho (follow signs for Obama), and follow bowl show signs after the village of Tsurugaoka that lead to show. Journey takes approximately 1.5 hrs from Kyoto city. Date: 29 April to 6 May 2007 (10:00am to 6:00pm)

Please Contact for details.
