2000 Lecture & Demonstration Tour of UK In October 2000, I was sponsored by Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation to give a lecture & demonstration tour of Kyoto ceramics in British art institutes. I visited the Kent Institute of Art & Design, Canterbury Art College, West of England University and North East Wales Institute of Higher Education to mainly talk about the history, renowned potters/artists, aesthetic values and techniques of Kyoto ceramics (backed with slides, OHPs and video), and also conduct a demonstration of Kyoto-style wheel throwing. Students, lecturers and local potters attended the lectures, with most people eager to know and see more of the techniques.
